Initiated in 2012, the Rhythmic Series is an ongoing body of work centered on the physical movement of paint. Each painting develops through oscillating gestures that deposit and accumulate material into dense, layered surfaces where structure and movement are inseparable.
The works operate as terrains shaped through the interplay of control and improvisation. Repetition and revision generate an internal rhythm across the composition as forms are continuously built, disrupted, and reconfigured through successive layers of paint. Color shifts through sustained attention—intensified, muted, or redirected—within an ongoing negotiation between depth and surface.
Across varying durations, the paintings resolve through the accumulation of material and compositional decisions, with rhythm emerging not only as a visual effect, but as a structural condition.
